A: To prepare for your appointment, please discontinue the use of retinol, salicylic/glycolic acid, and any products that may make your skin more sensitive 5-7 days before your appointment. Also, please let us know if you are currently taking Accutane or have been on it in the past.
For microneedling and chemical peels, please avoid sun exposure or tanning beds leading up to the treatment. Avoid consuming any alcohol within 24 hours before and refrain from having any caffeinated foods or drinks the day of your procedure. Avoid painkillers, with exception of Tylenol (Acetaminophen) but avoid Advil and Motrin (Ibuprofen.) it is best to reschedule in the week before if you have an active acne breakout. if you are unsure if you are allergic to the lidocaine topical numbing cream, you can schedule a patch test before the procedure.
